Gandof

The Gandof baseboard powered a series of budget-friendly x86_64 Chromebooks built around Intel’s Celeron 3215U processor. Designed for affordability and simplicity, these devices offered enough performance for lightweight browsing, classroom tools, and everyday cloud-based tasks. With compact storage—often 16 GB of onboard space—and modest memory configurations, Gandof systems targeted cost-conscious buyers and educational deployments where ease of use, fast startup, and long battery life were more important than premium hardware.

With an Auto Update Expiration (AUE) date of September 2021, Gandof-based Chromebooks are now beyond official support and no longer receive ChromeOS updates or security patches. Although still capable of light offline use or serving as dedicated single-purpose devices, their aging specifications and lack of modern security updates make them less suited for everyday web browsing or productivity today. Users looking to extend their life may consider installing a lightweight Linux distribution, but for long-term use, upgrading to a newer ChromeOS platform is advisable.
