Daisy
The Daisy baseboard was one of the earlier ARM-based Chromebook platforms, powered by the Exynos 5 Dual processor. Targeted at entry-level users and educational deployments, Daisy systems focused on delivering affordable access to ChromeOS with simple browsing and cloud-focused functionality. While limited in raw performance, these devices demonstrated ChromeOS’s ability to operate efficiently on ARM hardware and helped lay the groundwork for future ARM Chromebooks by prioritizing battery life, silent operation, and lightweight everyday use.
With an Auto Update Expiration (AUE) of October 2018, Daisy-based devices have long since exited active support, and their modest hardware struggles with modern web applications and multitasking demands. Although they remain capable for very basic offline tasks or experimentation, modern users seeking a smooth and secure ChromeOS experience should consider more recent platforms — especially newer ARM designs that offer significantly stronger performance and broader software compatibility.
